Ski trip for 2nd grade
2nd grade went on a successful ski trip in excellent weather.
Skiing during school hours
Second-grade students participated in the "Skiing During School Hours" project, supervised by the Center for Outdoor Activities and Education in Gufunesbær. The project is a collaboration between the Center, the city's ski areas and Reykjavík primary schools. The goal is to give second-grade students a chance to take their first steps on skis in a safe environment and learn to use a disc lift. Children get the opportunity to experience a fun and healthy activity, regardless of their parents' or guardians' skiing skills or interest in teaching them. Students who didn't own skis received free equipment loans and instruction from Center staff. Skiing took place in excellent conditions at Grafarvogsbrekka. The children performed exceptionally well, with most taking their first steps on skis.
