Laufey Einarsdóttir, a math teacher in the upper primary school, has been nominated as an exemplary teacher for her professional, innovative, and successful math instruction

Laufey's dedication and professionalism are such that she has not only managed to foster ambition and interest in students but also inspires her fellow teachers. Teachers seek to collaborate with her, and thus create continuity in math instruction from grades 1 through 10 where their methods form a cohesive whole based on core principles. Above all, she is a professional who connects with students in remarkable ways. When students were asked about Laufey's work, they had no shortage of answers: She is the best teacher I've ever had. She is so enthusiastic. She teaches us so well and always asks if she needs to explain things again, or in a better or different way... I've never done well in math until now. I believe I can learn math.
