We’re All Team Captains — closing celebration
This winter, fifth- and sixth-grade students participated in the "We’re All Team Captains" project. The Sports Federation of Iceland, the Football Association of Iceland, and UEFA sponsor this developmental initiative, which KVAN runs in partnership with football club Fram, Dalsskóli, Ingunnarskóli, and Sæmundarskóli.
The project stems from the belief that anyone who wants to can develop leadership skills and behaviors, and actively work to counter negative conduct. Every student in those grades had the opportunity to serve as team captain for a set period of time, while also gaining valuable insight into empathy, bullying, and leadership.
The project's closing celebration took place on Friday. All students gathered at Fram Sports Club for the event. Students performed dances and screened videos as part of their silver and gold projects. A DJ kept the energy high, and the entire venue buzzed with excitement and joy.
This has been a fantastic project with a strong start, and we look forward to carrying it into the next school year.
